Regency - An Active Adult (55+) Lifestyle Community
The Regency at the Woods is South Barrington's only active adult community. With resort style amenities, gated entrances, and an active adult lifestyle setting, the Regency features some of the most luxurious and comfortable single-family ranch homes in Chicago's Northwest suburbs.

Comprised of 156 properties, the high-end residences range from 2000 to 2500 square feet plus full basements. Selling prices have been mid $600s - $800s. The year-round low maintenance standard of living includes mowing, landscape trimming and snow removal.
Residents of the Regency can enjoy the well-appointed clubhouse with its fitness center, tennis, pickle ball and bocce courts, a heated pool, and social rooms for banquets, billiards and cards. The landscaped grounds even include walking trails.

Q: Can people younger than 55 live here?
A: As long as one of the residents is 55 or over, but all must be over 18.

The active adult lifestyle is enhanced with many options that provide a thriving, encompassing calendar of events. From cocktail parties, game and card nights, golf outings to dinners, day trips and charity events, there is something for everyone to be part of and enjoy.

Conveniently located within walking distance to upscale dining, shopping and entertainment at the Arboretum of South Barrington, and minutes from downtown Barrington and I-90, the Regency provides close access to life’s everyday wants and needs.
Q: Am I expected to participate in activities?
A: Only participate in what you want to; from everything to nothing at all!
The Regency at the Woods of South Barrington is truly One Great Place!
We came from out-of-state and were looking for a house. We found that the Regency was a community as well. Our home and the neighborhood make for a very comfortable place to live. We use our sunroom extensively and the basement with its look-out windows makes a great place for hobbies and entertaining.

Q: Can I use the Clubhouse for private parties?
A: The Ballroom and the entertainment rooms can be rented for private events.
We moved into Regency over 9 years ago and are very happy with our decision. We are delighted with the quality of the home. The community itself is just the right size for us. The homeowners are engaged and welcoming and yet very independent. The clubhouse with the pool and fitness center is great and the walking paths are just beautiful. There is great shopping and restaurants nearby, so we never feel out of touch. We could not be more pleased with how this move has turned out for us!
M & G
Our decision to relocate to the Chicago area led us to search the suburbs for a community to start anew. The Regency checked all the boxes for us. Quality built, upscale homes in an attractive setting; landscape maintenance and snow removal; an active and welcoming social community with many options for engagement; close-by restaurants, shopping, cultural attractions, health care and nature areas; and a community where pride is taken to maintain and improve. We couldn’t be happier with our decision to move to the Regency.

We were one of the early Regency homeowners. The elevation, floor plan and general amenities were what we wanted. Other deciding factors was the accessibility to I-90 to get downtown in 40 minutes, shopping at the Arboretum and Woodfield, and proximity to many suburban cultural and entertainment venues. One of the unexpected pleasures is the many new friendships we have developed. There is a sense of family here, where everyone keeps an eye out for their neighbors and a dedication to including new home owners into our activities and social circles.
